Cyclone toll could reach 10,000 in Myanmar



Cyclones have always been a great threat to the coastal areas especially Burma and Myanmar. The latest of the cyclones have brought in a major disaster in Myanmar.
More than 10,000 people have been killed in a tropical cyclone that struck Myanmar at the weekend, Foreign Minister Nyan Win told state television about the Cyclone and also said that the nation would welcome and accept international aids.

Nyan Win also welcomed Thailands promise to send emergency food and medicine, saying Myanmar would welcome international aid from other countries.

State television showed images of all affected places that got flooded due to the Tropical Cyclone 'Nargis' which struck on Friday. Earlier, state media said the township of bogalay could have alone lost 10,000 lives.

The United Nations said that because of the storm attack with winds of 190 kilometres per hour speed ,so many thousands of people had been left homeless and also the entire village destroyed with buildings completely flattened and power lines ripped to shreds in the former capital yangon..
