SUBWAY



With the record holding statistics the newyork boasts with its subway. The subway system with the most stations in the world is the Metropolitan Transportation Authority / New York City Transportation Authority subway (first section opened on October 27, 1904). The network covers 238 route miles, comprising 469 subway stations. In 1994, it served an average of 3.5 million passengers per day, plus an additional 3,611,000 in student population.
